Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin pie is a true fall classic, smooth, spiced, and perfectly comforting. Made with sweet sugar pumpkin puree and a touch of warm spices. Whether you enjoy it with a dollop of whipped cream or just as it is, homemade pumpkin pie is one of the simplest ways to capture the flavours of the season.
Ingredients:
Filling:
1 ½ cups pumpkin puree
1-tablespoon flour
1-cup sugar
1-teaspoon ginger
1-teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon of mace
¼ teaspoon salt
3 eggs lightly beaten
½ cup milk
Note: 2 3/4 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice can be used as a substitute for the spices listed in this recipe.



Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, flour, and sugar. Stir until smooth.
Add the spices and mix well to evenly distribute.
Lightly beat the eggs and milk in a separate small bowl, then add them to the pumpkin mixture and stir until fully incorporated.
Pour the filling into your prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
Note: Use either your favourite pie crust recipe, one bought from the store or tart shells.
Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. For tarts, bake for 35-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
