Shamrock Farm offers a wonderful educational farm tour for school groups during October. This tour is best suited to children from pre-kindergarten to grade 5. Please note that the pumpkin patch farm tour is extremely popular and dates fill up quickly! School tours run from October 1st to 31st. Please contact us early to avoid disappointment if you would like to book a tour.
Shamrock Farm tours provide students with firsthand knowledge of farming. Upon arriving at the farm students are first led into the huge pumpkin barn. This barn is where students will learn all about pumpkins. The tour centers on the pumpkins and will help children understand pollination, soil, pumpkin varieties, planting, and how pumpkins grow. This tour is a hands-on educational field trip. We take a short walk out to the ‘school patch’ where each student can pick his/her own pumpkin to take home. Visiting the barnyard animals is always a highlight for the children. Each child is given a cup of special feed to feed to our friendly chickens and turkeys. We have a small herd of goats and the students are encouraged to interact with them. Tours last one hour and are always led by ‘farmer’ Shannon, the owner, to ensure nothing is missed out. We are always happy to adapt the tour to your curriculum and educational need.
COST:
$4.00 per student. This price includes a pumpkin for students to take home as well as all special animal feeds. Teachers & parent helpers/drivers are free. We require a minimum of 15 paid attendees per group. (Exceptions for special needs classes). Maximum group size is 60 students.

CURRENT SCHEDULE AND AVAILABILITY
WHAT TO BRING TO THE PUMPKIN PATCH
We are a farm so appropriate clothes and footwear are a must. Rubber boots are best. A warm jacket and gloves are also a great idea. Cloth grocery bags are ideal to carry pumpkins from the field to home.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations are accepted at least 7 business days prior to the confirmed tour date. This gives us time to re-book with another group. Please note that there are no weather related cancellations, as the tours take place rain or shine.
